Just returned from an awesome few days with my daughter in South Wales and we stayed in a great little self-catering cabin that was only a 15 minute ride from bike park Wales! It’s called The Roost Merthyr and yes it’s in Merthyr Tidfil 🏴.
The Roost review:
Where do I begin! Firstly, WOW! What an incredible place, we’ve had an amazing experience. My daughter and I regularly come to Wales for mountain biking, horse riding and mountain walks and we stayed in Arosfa, of which we had the great honour of being the first guests.
It has is own en-suite with shower room:
and a fully equipped kitchen:
a very welcoming home from home each time we returned from our activities. The cabin was very warm and cosy even with -1°C evenings! We slept amazingly well each night with super comfortable double bunk beds, very efficient and silent heating and the area is so quiet.
On entering the site, we were wowed by the fact that there was a very modern electronic entry gate system, of which a secure code is used to enter/exit the site, giving additional reassurance on top of the included bike storage within the cabins.
Bike Park Wales is a 15 minute cycle away, Cwmcarn bike park is a 40 minute drive, Pen Y Fan (highest peak in S.Wales) is only 30 mins and beautiful Brecon only 40 mins too! When booking our holiday,
I was extremely impressed by how easy it all was book from start to finish - the communications/questions were so rapidly responded to with in minutes! Kris & Kath were our excellent and very welcoming hosts and thanks to them, our holiday went seamlessly and exceeded all our expectations.
We couldn’t recommend this fantastic place for a holiday enough, every box was ticked and then some! We are definitely going to be returning as soon as we can FOR SURE!
